Relationship to other established artists and carvers: son of Henry Speck, and brother of Johnny and Tommy Speck (all are represented in this collection).
Biographical notes:
- Kalokwis Band/cultural group.
- he died when he was 19 years old by drowning in a fishing boat accident.
- the Department of Indian Affairs had transplanted him to Chilliwack to further develop his artistic gifts. He was studying with William McLean at Chilliwack Senior Secondary School, and was learning to apply modern techniques to the production of Indian designs.
- his medium was watercolour painting.
- the B.C. Provincial Museum has 2 of his works in its collection (cat. Nos. 14434, 14438).
