Biographical Notes:

  • he is from the Nimpkish cultural group
  • he was a student of Lloyd Wadhams
  • he also worked with the Arts of the Raven Gallery in Victoria, but he did not maintain a good artistic relationship with the carvers there
  • he has an independent nature and always tried to do things on his own
  • he is now involved with the Native Art Program at Camosun College in Victoria
  • he mainly does wood carving and some jewelry; he has recently been making paintings of masks in the collection of the B.C. Provincial Museum are 2 of his watercolours and 3 carvings
  • this collection contains 52 of his paintings
